I’m getting pretty excited to head to Canada on holiday in FOUR short days! I can’t think about it too much or my head will explode with everything I want to do there. High on the list right now is: drinking water out of the tap, taking a bath, eating sushi, walking around at night and of course, seeing my friends and family (after sushi). So in the interest of not exploding my head, here is something completely different for you:
Anyone who knows me in real life will know I’m not the most creative crayon in the box. I’m a details girl, the nitpicky small things, the proofreader, the little picture things rather than the whole shebang. The only ‘artsy’ thing I’m even halfway decent at is photography, and one time when I was learning how to play the drums I made a song but I think it was kinda horrible. I can’t draw a stickman, or do paint-by-numbers, and any DIY “make this men’s shirt into an awesome dress” tutorial I find on Pinterest somehow leaves me with shorts and they look like a 4 year old made them. So yeah. I have other talents, I’m okay with that.
But I made something, almost all by myself, that I’m super proud of and wanted to show you! (Keeping in mind the last paragraph that I’m not too good at design things.)
I love that the entire front is a photo…of me…(narcissist much?) The back has a photo of me on the dive boat with my name, titles (PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, Blogger and Freelance Writer, in case you were wondering) and my email and website. Thank you SO much to my good friend Sarah for taking both the photos of me! I used the custom template from Moo as they have tons of amazing templates but none of them fit my under the sea theme, and so I designed it ALL BY MYSELF YOU GUYS. Fancy business cards! Adulthood = achieved!
I have nothing but great things to say about Moo – their website was easy to use, easy to place orders, and the estimated shipping date was right on time. I paid about $33 US for 50 cards including shipping to Georgia (I was lucky enough to be able to ship them to a friend who brought them down to Honduras for me). The cards are really high quality and I get a lot of positive comments on them. I checked out reviews of tons of printing companies first and a lot of bloggers recommend Moo. I’m happy with them and the cards came out exactly as I wanted! They even sent me a super cute holder for them (see photo). I will definitely use them again.
If you want to get some of your own, you can do me a solid and head through this affiliate link to grab them – you get 10% off your first order (woohoo!), and apparently I get £4.50 to spend on my next order, which is a whopping 140 Honduran Lempira, which even though I have to spend it on Moo Printing I could buy seven baleadas with it and that is a lot of damn baleadas. But yeah, I will get some more sweet stuff from Moo with it. Anyway, if you need some badass business cards, Moo is the place. Get some son.
Note: I was not compensated in any way from Moo Printing for this review. I just happen to think they are awesome. The affiliate link above was received after I placed my order, you can get one too after you order from them!

Loved the idea for having a card with flower seeds inside! Very creative. Thanks!

Nice business cards Rika! They are making things easier these days for everything to not have excuses about not being creative or know how. Really like the front dive photo. To bad you couldn't have them just shipped to you but it worked out.

Thanks so much Thomas! Yep, no reason nowadays why everyone can't make what they want…it was so easy! We can get stuff shipped to Roatan via a shipping company in Florida but it's between $12-24 to pick the package up, so luckily I had a friend who could bring them down for me.

Your business cards look awesome, but I don't know if I'd be able to part with them given how pretty they are! 😀

Thanks Steph!! I love them…but give them out sparingly 🙂

Ugh I so regret not using Moo and copping out with Vistaprint – the difference is unreal. They look great!
CubicleThrowdown says
Thanks Alex! Yeah, I went the cheaper Vistaprint route with cards for my online business…won't be doing that again. Moo is great. Next time!!
