Why is patience a virtue? Why isn’t hurry the hell up a virtue?

March 9, 2012 by EM

I am having a really hard time with how long it is taking to get things together for this trip. Which is utterly ridiculous as I’ve only been home from Roatan for less than three weeks, which is not that long at all, and I’m pretty much trying to turn my life upside down and inside out. And I’m not even leaving for like 4 more months. However, I am an impatient person and when I want something I want it NOW. I want money now, want my stuff sold now, want to be diving now, want to get back to Roatan now. Never did get the hang of that patience thing…

I remembered last night that I have a snowboard and brand new snowboard boots & bindings in the back of my closet!! So I brought those out and got them up on Craigslist for sale. Won’t be needing them in the Caribbean! Hopefully that will bring in about $100-200. Every little bit counts right now.

Still no luck on the job hunt, part-time or up north. I am going to have to get to work on that this weekend and make sure I’ve got all the bases covered and send out resumes like crazy. Nothing I’ve applied to so far has panned out (except maybe a dog-sitting gig next weekend…easy $100!) but I need to keep my hopes up and keep at it.

This photo is me near Port Royal, Roatan, after a day of bushwacking through the jungle (in shorts and a tank top – side note, bad idea). It was totally isolated and peaceful. I’ll be going here again for sure when I get back.
