Merry Christmas from the Caribbean Sea!!


You may have noticed I have been conspicuously absent lately. I have a good reason for this, I promise.


It’s this:

Yep. That’s a 105 ft yacht, and I’m on it right now sailing to Belize, Cozumel, Cancun, Isla Mujeres, Cuba, and finally through the Florida Keys on the way to Ft. Lauderdale where the boat is going into the yard and I’m flying back to Roatan from Miami. Did I mention I’m getting paid? Way more than I make at my current dive shop job? And there’s a dive shop in the back of the yacht? And that for some reason I’m sleeping in an amazing guest suite that’s nicer than any hotel I’ve ever been in? And that they let me drink all the Moet & Chandon that I want?


This happened because it was my week at the dive shop to do courses, and my divers were staying on the yacht as it was moored in our marina (some perks of working at a fancy 5-star dive resort). They ended up taking me and another instructor on a 3 day trip to Cayos Cochinos, which was unbelievable,  and then asked me to stay on with them for the rest of the trip. I am leaving my job to do this trip and they’ve been very understanding about the whole thing, however I’m hoping to get back on with them once I get back in 3-4 weeks.


I don’t really know how this trip will all play out but at the moment, it’s Christmas Day and I’m sailing through the Caribbean Sea on a $15 million dollar yacht, with everything I could ever ask for at my beck and call. I’m being spoiled rotten (even showered with Christmas gifts!) and I’m having the time of my life. I was having a terrible few weeks in Roatan and asked the universe for a break. Ask, and you shall receive!!!!!
