New toys, new money.

March 24, 2012 by EM Leave a Comment

An updated budget!

But first… diving porn. Here are my new toys:

That’s right folks, this is the Atomic Aquatics Frameless Mask and matching SV2 Semi-Dry Snorkel (and if you know me, you know I love purple!)

I got these bad boys (girls?) at the IDC Dive Shop thanks to the super awesome Royse, who so kindly gave me a discount on my purchase as I waited around the shop for a long time for him one afternoon while he helped other customers. They didn’t have the size of mask I needed – this mask is Atomic’s “medium fit” model (since I have what my mom calls a “peanut head” and my Roatan travel buddy called a “petite face”…thanks ladies) so Royse ordered it in for me. That guy is a mind reader because I was going to get a different black Tusa snorkel, and the regular clear mask and he ordered me this badass purple combo! I love it! I cleaned my mask with toothpaste and got it all put together, showed it off to my dad on Skype like a nerd and then took it for a test run in the shower (good thing I live by myself….what a weirdo) and it was great! Can’t wait to take it out in the pool on Sunday.

And now – the updated budget! Getting closer. This reflects a couple minor changes suggested by the owner of Coconut Tree Divers, notably the change for a visa run… I thought you had to leave the country every 90 days but I guess you can pay $100 for a visa extension. So instead of a trip to Belize I can just do that! Also I sold my Sasquatch Tickets for $515 so that was a big chunk of money coming in.

I applied for TEN part time jobs today. I am down to sending in applications to Safeway!! Sheesh! Who knew getting an evening & weekends job would be so hard? This is the week I needed to get one so everyone cross your fingers that something works out for me this weekend!
