A step in the right direction.

March 29, 2012 by Rika 2 Comments

A few good things have gone on lately, which is a nice change!

I took my new mask and snorkel out for a spin in the pool last night and they were awesome! Mask was a little foggy, but I might not have gotten all the manufacturer’s film off the inside, and also my face was super hot because I was working so hard. It won’t be like that diving (especially since the water is so much colder) and also I’ll be using anti-fog spray when I dive, so I’m sure it will be fine. The semi-dry snorkel was a good investment – I chose the lane beside the water polo team and they swim really violently for some reason (?) so there was tons of splashing going on beside me and I didn’t get a single drop down my snorkel. I also took it in the dive tank and swam around on the bottom for awhile and it cleared perfectly when I came back up. I was at the bottom of the dive tank and looked up at the surface and even though I was only 16 ft down in a pool, it reminded me of diving and I came up with a huge smile. I can’t wait to go diving again!!

I have managed to snag two word processing overtime shifts at work so far, which as I said before doesn’t add up to much after taxes are taken off but if the alternative is sitting at home making zero money, then I think it’s a good thing.

The part-time job front is finally looking up…way up! I applied yesterday at a gelateria (don’t laugh) and it actually looks like a fun and really decent place to work. I have another interview today for a receptionist position. I am awesome at interviewing so I will probably get both. Either would be good and thankfully they both start right away. Things are turning around – wish me luck!

Also a big hello to those ladies my mom has shared this blog with… so cute that my mom is telling her friends about it. Thanks mom!
