Under the sea is where I’ll be.

April 15, 2013 by Rika 8 Comments

I’ve been doing that thing again where I work my ass off and don’t go on the computer for a week.

I’m diving more than I ever have been and it’s been amazing! And since I’m too exhausted to tell you all about it, here is my last week in photo form instead. Enjoy!

me giving a dive briefing

the odyssey wreck… i’m leading this dive. see all the tiny divers around the huge ship? it’s over 400′ long and it’s sitting at about 110′ deep at the bottom!
me at the odyssey, also my buddy the snapper. he’s scared cause he knows how much i like sushi.
uh yeah. so this is my workplace. just sayin.
mickey’s place. an amazing dive site through a cut in the reef! i love leading this one.
lionfish are an invasive species here on roatan. so i killed the shit out of these ones with my spear and my guests ate them for dinner! they loved it!

(all photos except the last one are from my super cool diver noel last week. thanks noel!)

Exciting news coming tomorrow!

Love the shot of you diving through the cut in the reef! Now you make me want to head that way and go diving again. The night dive I did off of Utila is still one of the best dives I've ever done 🙂

Thanks Shannon, I was lucky enough to have a great photographer along for the dive. You should definitely come back to the Bay Islands and do some diving here 🙂

Yeah!!! The sandy bottom there is about 115ft and the top of the mast there is at about 55ft. It is such a fun dive!

I did not realize that you could eat lionfish… I thought they were poisonous! Crazeballs. Also, I have never seen a divemaster with a spear; you look very badass!

You definitely can eat it! The spines are venomous, but you cut them off when you're cleaning the fish before cooking it. It's amazing as ceviche, fried, any way! Tastes like grouper 🙂 And I like to think I look like an underwater ninja with my spear haha!

He's pretty talented hey? That wreck is a pretty cool one, I am lucky to dive that at least once a week.
