Well, here it is.
I planned, I budgeted, I nearly drove myself mad to get to today. I’ve been here for 4 months now, which was the date I picked for “be done your instructor course and have a job or something by then or you’ll run out of money and have to come home”.
Good news – I don’t have to go home! I’m done my course and I have a job.
What else has happened in the last month?
- I did some badass graffiti at a restaurant and asked you all to follow me on Twitter!
- I finally bought my own domain name as part of my plan for making Cubicle Throwdown bigger and better
- I posted a video I liked to remind everyone that money isn’t everything
- I had some technical difficulties, and was forced offline for a bit – and it wasn’t as bad as it sounds!
- I got back online and posted an update about my new place and new job
- I went fishing with my roommates and they got a video with their GoPro so you can watch me catch my tuna!
Month 4 is in the books, and I’m finally starting to feel settled here. West End is starting to pick up as the busy season arrives (with it’s plethora of cruise shippers, honestly, why must they all be fat and wear socks with sandals??) and I’m hoping to make some decent money during the next few months. On that note, tipping etiquette for divers post to come!

I'm delighted to of found your website and look forward to following you. It all brings back memories of when I took my Scuba and Advanced Scuba courses in Cairns 4 years ago. I'll never forget night swimming with the sharks, that was amazing.

Thanks so much, I love hearing from new readers! I love night dives but haven't done one with sharks yet, that's next on my list!

Looking forward to the post about tipping Divemasters! Definitely not something people understand enough about…

Yep, that's a post that's been brewing for months now!! Still putting the finishing touches on it but should be soon…

thanks for sharing and there is no doubt that you had lots of fun out there. Love to join with you all.

Hi Susan, yes Roatan is tons of fun! Come visit!

Do these large tourists wearing socks with sandals also sport fanny packs?
CubicleThrowdown says
Ah, yes, they are those ones 😉

I see you have been so busy recently. Congratulations again on your certificate. I will do one once I learn how to swim properly ;-). You deserve a nice drink on a yacht after such big milestones reached!
CubicleThrowdown says
Thanks Agness! I never feel that busy, but when I do these roundup posts I think about how much has gone on in that 30 days and it feels like a lot!

Another big milestone reached! Can't wait to hear about the months to come, and as a new diver, I'm really interested in hearing your thoughts on tipping etiquette. We have always given our divemaster and crew a little something following our dives, but noticed that we were the only ones who did so!
CubicleThrowdown says
Yay! Yeah, I remember trying to look for what to do for tipping before I came here the first time as I was clueless. I wasn't able to find much online. I can't speak for everywhere in the world, but I think I can speak for Roatan! Glad to hear you guys tipped – it is always so appreciated!!
